Current Ductless Heat Pump Rebates for Residential Customers

Different utility companies and government agencies offer rebates for homeowners who install energy-efficient upgrades, including ductless heat pump systems and smart thermostats.
These rebates can vary depending on your location and the specific system you choose, but they can provide significant savings on the upfront cost of installation or provide interest-free or low-interest loans.


HOME RENOVATION SAVINGS PROGRAM (HRS)
Starting January 28, 2025, receive up to $7,500 in rebates for the installation of new or replacement ductless heat pumps via the Home Renovations Saving’s Program by Enbridge and “Save on Energy” to provide incentives towards Ontario’s electrification initiative.
ductless.ca Inc. will help you apply for this incentive. Note that applications must be submitted before any works commences.
Cold Climate Heat Pumps:
Enbridge gas Customers: $500 per ton, up to $2,000
Electric heating Customers: $1,250 per ton, up to $7,500
Smart Thermostats: $75

ENERGY AFFORDABILITY PROGRAM (EAP)
The Energy Affordability Program (EAP) delivered by Save on Energy offers completely free upgrades and expert advice to help you lower your energy bills and improve home comfort.
- Two Ways to Save: Access comprehensive, fully funded home upgrades or request a free Energy Saving Kit.
- New Free Heat Pump Upgrade: If your home is heated by oil, expanded funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) means you could now qualify for a high-efficiency cold-climate air source heat pump system at no cost.

TORONTO HOME ENERGY LOAN PROGRAM (HELP)
For 2026, receive up to $2,500 in incentives and low interest loans of up to $125,000 over 20 years for the installation of new or replacement ductless heat pumps via the City of Toronto’s Home Energy Loan Program (HELP).
Online applications are through the City of Toronto portal with your property tax roll number to receive an official funding offer. Please note that this program is limited to homeowners who Postal Code starts with “M”.
VARIOUS - LOCAL IMPROVEMENT CHARGES (LIC)
Various municipalities offer home owners interest-free or low-interest loans of up to $125,000 or more for energy saving improvements.
Home owners in Durham, Halton Hills, Hamilton, Guelph, Burlington, and many more cities offer incentives.
Contact your local city hall to see if there are any programs available to you. Most of these programs require a energy audit by agents and ductless.ca Inc. has no affiliation.

HER+ COMBINED WITH CANADA GREENER HOMES GRANT
Note: Program suspended on January 19, 2025 and has been replaced by the Home Renovation Savings Program (HRS). Program requirements shown for existing projects under HRS.
For 2025, receive up to $6,500 in rebates for the installation of new or replacement ductless heat pumps if you are currently or will be an Enbridge Gas customer under the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) combined with the Government of Canada’s Greener Homes Grant. ductless.ca Inc. will help you apply for this incentive including finding the right partner for the initial and follow-up EnerGuide energy assessment.
Other rebates under this program include up to $750 for the replacement of an 89% AFUE or less boiler/combi boiler with a boiler/combi boiler with an efficiency greater than or equal to 90% AFUE.
